Welcome. I’m so glad you found me and hope you will join me on the journey to becoming an author. You have stumbled upon a hopeless romantic that is new to writing but madly in love with it. There is no better feeling than creating a world in your mind and letting it flow out of you in the form of a story. Dancing in the rain, the long-awaited kiss, a hand on the small of the back, they all get to me. There is nothing quite like an epic love story with a happy ending. Why else do we read romance if not for the satisfaction of the boy finally getting the girl?

I am a Georgia native and true Southerner. Sweet tea and sunshine are part of my DNA and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Smoldering summers also come with the package but they are a fair trade for genuine hospitality and living life at a slower pace. If you keep strolling you will see some photos of the gorgeous place I get to call home. Most people don’t think of beaches when you mention the state of Georgia but the Golden Isles are rich with them.

As far as my writing journey goes, I was first inspired while taking gifted classes in school. We were allowed to tackle some unique and stimulating projects that had a way of sticking with us. One of the most memorable for me was creating and illustrating a book complete with a cover. It was probably horrible, but I will never forget the experience or how great it felt to finish it.

As an adult, writing took a back burner. However, I never lost the ability to create fantastic stories in my mind. I have created so many that I’ve lost count and always thought it was a normal thing that everyone did. When I was bored, my mind would transport me somewhere else. It was an odd feeling to realize that maybe it wasn’t such a common thing. I don’t know what I would have done without that ability. It has kept me sane through some very challenging phases of life.

I was watching a movie on Netflix called “The Kissing Booth” and really enjoyed it. After, I decided to research a little about the writer and discovered that Beth Reekles got her start on Wattpad. I started out reading on the site and devoured every book I could. One day I decided to let one of those stories out of my head and share it with the world.

I have always heard that you should write what you know, so that’s what I did. My first book had so many moments from my real life, some with a fictional twist but still very true to my experiences. When I hit publish, my heart was beating a mile a minute. It is such a humbling moment to share your thoughts with the world. Once a few readers began to comment, I was able to breathe a little easier. I have been hooked ever since.

As I am writing this, my goal is to self-publish my first book. Currently, in the editing phase, I hope to have it released in mid-February 2021. It is a goal I think of often and cannot wait to reach. So far, the journey has been challenging but oh so rewarding. This path is not for the faint of heart. I am still learning and growing every day. There may be a few hiccups along the way, but that’s all part of what makes a journey great.
